  • 2 lbs (900 grams) Apples (Gala, Fuji, or McIntosh)
  • 10 cups Water
  • 2 Tbsp (25 grams) Brown Sugar
  • 4 inches (55 grams) Fresh Ginger
  • 2 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 2 tsp Black Peppercorns

Instructions

  1. Wash and quarter the apples, removing the cores but leaving the skin on.
  2. Instant Pot: Combine all ingredients in the pot, lock the lid, and cook on high pressure for 18 minutes. Release steam manually.
  3. Stove Top: In a stock pot, combine apples, ginger, sugar, peppercorns, and water. Boil then simmer for about 30 minutes.
  4. Strain tea through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing down on solids to extract juice.
  5. Let cool completely before serving hot or chilled.
