  • 1/2 cup Butter (unsalted)
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 4 cups Milk (whole milk)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper (ground)
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg (ground)
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack Cheese (shredded)
  • 2 cans Tuna (in water, drained)
  • 1 cup Frozen Peas
  • 1/2 cup Sweetcorn (canned, drained)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (panko breadcrumbs)
  • 2 tbsp Butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. 2. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  3. 3. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour to create a roux; cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. 4. Gradually add milk while whisking until smooth. Simmer until thickened.
  5. 5. Stir in salt, pepper, nutmeg, and cheeses until melted and smooth.
  6. 6. In a bowl, mix cooked pasta, drained tuna, peas, and sweetcorn. Pour cheese sauce over and mix well.
  7. 7. Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish and top with mixed breadcrumbs and melted butter.
  8. 8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. 9. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
