  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 (15-ounce) can chopped stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook the ground beef with minced garlic and chopped onion for about 10 minutes until the meat is browned and cooked through.
  2. Stir in chopped stewed tomatoes and beef broth. Add chili powder, cumin, oregano, and cayenne pepper to infuse flavors.
  3. Reduce heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer gently for one hour while stirring occasionally.
  4. After an hour, add rinsed pinto beans and salt. Stir well and let it cook for another 15 minutes before serving hot.
