  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 medium yellow onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 28 oz diced tomatoes (undrained)
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1 lb elbow macaroni
  • Optional: shredded cheddar cheese (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about five minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, beef broth, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add elbow macaroni and ensure it's submerged in sauce. Cover and cook for 15–20 minutes until macaroni is tender.
  5. Remove from heat and let rest for five minutes before serving. Top with optional cheese if desired.
